Pax Device Setup

Step 1 Charge the Device

After you’ve removed the Pax from the box, locate the charging cable. Plug the cable into the device and the wall for it to begin charging.

Step 2 Power On the Device

After it has charged for a few minutes, hold down the power button on the right side of the device until the screen lights up. The device will load into multiple screens, once you see the terminal screen it will say you are logged out. Select “OK.”

Step 3 Enter the Pax Password

Press the back arrow until you end up at the welcome screen. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and then click the arrow in the bottom right two times quickly. Note: Remember this process. Eventually you will end up back on this screen and will need to know how to get out of it.

Enter the back to desktop password “pax9876@@” At this point you will be at the home screen of the device. Select the settings app and enter the “pax9876@@” password again.

Step 4 Connect the Pax to Wifi

From the settings app, go to Network and Internet, then go to Wifi. Connect the device to your Wifi network.

Step 5 Sign Into the SkyLink App

After connecting your device to Wifi click the middle circle button at the bottom of the bottom of the screen to get back to the main screen on the Pax device. Click the SkyLink app and enter your username and password and you will be ready to take payments.

Step 1 Accepting Card Present Payments

Once your device has been setup, you will be on the terminal screen. Type the amount you would like to charge the customer and click charge. It will then take you to the payment type screen where you will have several options.

Step 2 Select Payment Type

The first option will be the card present option where the customer can tap or insert their chip card. You can then click proceed and the screen will say “Sale $ ok?” The customer can then click yes and it will say processing then it will go to an approved screen where you can print, text or email the customer their receipt.

Step 3 Return to Terminal Screen

After the sale is complete, you can then hit the Return to POS button. This will take you back to the terminal screen and you’ll be ready to take another payment.

Step 1 Accepting Card Not Present Payments

From the terminal screen, enter the amount you would like to charge and click charge. The payment options screen will then pop up.

Step 2 Select Payment Type

The second option will be the manual option. After clicking that, you or the customer can input the card details then click purchase. Once the payment is approved, you can print, text or email the customer their receipt.

Step 3 Return to Terminal Screen

After the sale is complete, you can then hit the Return to POS button. This will take you back to the terminal screen and you’ll be ready to take another payment.

Step 1 Accepting Cash Payments

From the terminal screen, enter the amount you would like to charge and click charge. The payment options screen will then pop up.

Step 2 Select Payment Type

The third option will be the cash option. After clicking that, you can enter the amount of cash the customer has given you, then click submit. Once the payment is approved, you can print, text or email the customer their receipt.

Step 3 Return to Terminal Screen

After the sale is complete, you can then hit the Return to POS button. This will take you back to the terminal screen and you’ll be ready to take another payment.

Step 1 Request Payments From Your Device

From the terminal screen, enter the amount you would like to charge and click charge. The payment options screen will then pop up.

Step 2 Select Payment Type

The last option will be the request option. After clicking that, you can enter the customer’s name, phone or email address then click send. This will send the customer a link where they can pay the request.

Step 3 Return to Terminal Screen

After the sale is complete, you can then hit the Return to POS button. This will take you back to the terminal screen and you’ll be ready to take another payment.
